Dog control

The Acadian Peninsula Regional Service Commission (APRSC) has been responsible for dog control since 2018.

This service includes, among other things, the enforcement of regulations and municipal by-laws, the picking up of stray dogs and the custody of seized dogs. The service may vary by municipality due to the different regulations in effect. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the various provisions of the dog control regulations in your community.

To obtain your dog’s tag, please access the Portal or come in person to your municipal office.

Note that the Regional Municipality of Tracadie provides its own dog control service. For more information, call 506.394.4020 or consult the municipality’s website.

The Acadian Peninsula Rural District (Miscou) is served by the NB SPCA. For more information, call 1.877.722.1522 or consult the NB SPCA’s website.
