About us

The Acadian Peninsula Regional Service Commission (APRSC) offers a local planning service to all seven municipalities and the Acadian Peninsula Rural District (Miscou). The service is tasked with the following:

  • Develop the planning tools needed for land use and development. The APRSC prepares and updates municipal and rural plans, as well as the by-laws stemming from these (zoning, construction and allotment) in collaboration with the municipalities and the province;
  • Advise the seven municipalities and minister responsible for the rural district;
  • Oversee sound land use through the issuance of planning and construction permits and the inspection of buildings and constructions to ensure compliance with the provisions of the National Building Code of Canada and provincial and municipal regulations;
  • Serve and guide the public in its development projects.

The Urban Planning Department will review your application. Depending on the nature of the work, allow 2 to 4 weeks.

Three ways to apply for a permit

In all three cases, a planning officer will make an initial verification of your project according to the applicable regulations and will give you the list of documents to provide before submitting and finalizing your request.
